Bullying posters

bullying is theme that my posters on. The poster effects everyone but is directed towards teens. It is saying that most teens that get bullyed acts like they dont care and it doesnt bother but deep down its killing them. It is a harsh poster by giving the worst posibilty of what bullying can lead too. I used the statistic Suicide is the 6th most common cause of death in teens due to bullying. By saying this message i would hope that bullies will see and think wow bullying really does hurt and lead to terrible things.
Some of the things i changed in these posters were colour,font and placing of the font. In all the poster the saying is "she acted tough like she didnt care" this is saying that there are so many people that get bullyed and act like they dont care but deep down there dying. In the first poster i used read font because it symbolizes depression and sadness. I used a font that stands out and made the words TOUGH and Care big.At the bottom i put BULLYING HURTS in capitals because it is the main message. In the second poster i dont think the message is as clear by the way the words are placed i dont think it is as easy to read. I think the poster is not as good becuase i dont like how the words on a slant look and red font suits the mood better. The first poster is the best because it gets the message across very easily. Just by looking at the poster the bullying hurts stands out and the image potrays that the girl is lonely and feels upset. Once you read the saying it is easy to understand how the girl feels.

Life After the Tsunami.One and a half million people become homeless in just a short moment when a huge tsunami swept overSoutheast Asia durinf christmas 2004.danchurAid collected aproximatley 70 million for the tsunami relief. The money was spent on emergency assistance in Sri Lanka and india for the bulding of houses,boats and fishing nets.4 years have passed and the program has been closed down.
Jonathon Moeller inspires many people. He writes and films about the issues that really matter in the world like poverty in India or the local shelter not having enough money.I remembered when this Tsunami hit it made me so upset just thinking about all the people who had lost everything some even losing family members. This was such an emotional time for everyone that is why i choose to write about this.

Bullying

My poster will be about the issue of bullying. It will be intended towards teens, I think this is a major issue for all teenagers today.
What is a bully? Bullying is when a person or group tries to hurt or control another person in a harmfull way. The three types of bullying are cyber,physical and psychological.Why do people bully? At least one of these types of bullying is seen daily in all schools. Bullies are often bullied themeslves or were once bullied in there life. People bully to get attention and think it makes them look cool. They take out their unhappiness on others and feel no responsibilty for their actions.
Bullying should be stopped. Stand up,dont stand back. Tell someone about it. Do anything you need to do to stop bullying.My poster will be intended toward teenagers and will be mainly about what you can do to stop bullying.

Getting Creative

Getting creative with your video camera is a major thing in making a video from boring to interesting. Many Vedeographers forget to be creative and just simply shoot.Before you start shooting take a couple minutes to be creative and think about how to improve your video.Instead of shooting from the same level the whole video try to get up high or place the camera on the ground and get down low. Most people would just stand were they are and shoot to be comfortable but to have a good video you may have to get up close to the subject.Dont just shoot a tight shot,go super tight.It will improve the video by shooting from the right perspective for example if you are filming a toddler shoot from a low perspective. Most videos are shot from tripod or eye level which makes it boring. I think this was an interesting article because it reminded me that everytime i shoot i should think first before shooting and try to make it ore interesting. One thing that i didnt like about the article was that the person kept mentioning about a tripod and how to be creative with a tripod but what if you dont have a tripod? Overall i think this was a helpfull article.

Video Sequencing

sequencing is one of the main points of all video story telling.Sequences compress time.Proper sequencing gives the editor a better way to tell the story by using wide,medium and tight shots.Sequencing helps compress time in a video.For example something that would take 3 minutes in real life we would not show that in a video,we would only show a short clip of it.Anticipating the action is key in video and knowing were to be at the right time.Make sure to shoot a variety of shoots.weight your shots to the tight and super tight end of the shooting spectrum

Gas station collage

I choose to do my photo essay on the Esso gas station at the corner of Kipling and Horner. This is a location i drive by and walk by every single day to get to school. I was also interested in the gas station because I started drag racing during the summer and I became very interested in cars. Being at the Esso gas station i saw that there is a varitey of things people go to a gas station for. Its not just for gas. People would go into the station to grab a coffee or buy some snacks or even get a car wash. I think the Esso gas station is a location that is used daily by people of the lakeshore community.

Frank Browne

The photographer i chose i was Frank Browne,he took famous photographs of the titanic and on board.Alot of his photos have to do with the life aboard the ship.I liked his photos because i like the shots of water are interseting and they look very visual because you can see the waves and it you can visualize the photo.

Photo collage

Last week we were able to go out a take photos,my
partner and i went out and seeing the envoirnemt we had to take photos in i chose to do my collage on texture and lines.My theme revolves around garbage and graffiti.

I made all the of the photos bright coluered because i wanted them to stand out.I got a backround of a graffiti wall because i think these are all photos of something you would find in this envoirnemt.I put the outer glow on all of the photos to make them look 3D and stand out more.Overall all of these photos have to do with garbage.

simplicity and lines in photos

The technique of simplicity is used to achieve the effect of focusing on one object in the picture and making it stand out from the background. Simplicity is one of the essential photographic techniques. By going closer to the object simplicity can be achieved. The simpler the picture, the easier it is for the view to realize the subject and appreciate it. Cluttered images and or backgrounds can distract the viewer from the main object in the photo.The pictures are simple becasue the eye is focused on one object.





The lines that can be found in photos are very powerful elements that can add dynamic impact to a photograph in terms of mood. These pictures show lines because the focus is on the horizontal and vertical lines.

First I got the picture of a plain white baseball with with white needles and opened it in to phtoshop.I clicked on the couler palette and went to hue/saturation i put the saturation at -100 to make the picture a lighter shade.I created a new layer and changed the blending mode to couler.Before i started to paint the picture i went to window- and clicked swatches.selecting the paintbrush tool i made the diameter 200 px.I used blue,green,yellow and pink to paint the picture.I started of at the top painting with yellow,then goinmg down a bit i used pink then blue, then green to create this effect.When i was done i deleted the hue/saturation layer.

I think this was a very easy effect to create and it can be used while editing many types of pictures,i think it would be best used to picture of people with a dark backrouund. It makes the picture of look alot more original and stand out instead of just black and white.

Album cover

The name of this band is Steven Ciabo. Seeing the picture of this calm lake with mountains in the backround gives the feeling of calm suthing music. I used black and grey for the band and album name because they are calm ,neutral coulers and the music is dull and not upbeat.I used the plain font because its just boring plain music. I think the album name "rest on pure joy" matches the album and band because it means just rest so it matched the music and album cover of just being calm and not bright coulered.


The second album cover i think would be disco,retro,techno upbeat music. I used bright coulers for the band name type 80 because it makes the music look happy,i used the bold writing outlined in red because the bright green with red look like such bright coulers and look like disco music.The picture kind of matches the music because the picture has lots of people walking and its busy and the type of music makes you wanna dance and move around.The album name freindship and conversation is totally random but i guess conversation could match the music because it means upbeat.The coulers i used go with the album because i used a bright red and the outer glow which maded the it pop out.The music reminds me of something you would go downtown to hear and too see the band.

Celbrity photo

First i got a picture of paris hilton and a seprate picture of a group of homeless people.Then I used the magic wand tool to erase most of the backround,any parts of the backround i misssed i used the eraser tool to get rid of it .I used the magnetic lasso tool to cut around Paris.Then i used the lasso tool to erase and parts i missed.I grabbed Paris and put her on the picture of with the homeless people.First i went to Edit-transform-scale to make her the right size.Then i went to hue/saturation to make her the right couler to fit in to the backround.

I think this image is incongrous because Paris Hilton is always being portrayed as ritch and doesnt really help the homeless.She always has her fancy clothes and expensive jewlery.Even in the picture she is wearing a fancy dress.I dont think she would ever be in this enviornment because she is so rich and even though she could be using her money too help people and donate money she chooses to use her money to buy clothes,expensive jewlery and plastic surgerys.

To edit the first barack obama photo i used the magnetic lasso tool to cut him out and then i went to slect and inverse image.I then dragged him in to the picture of the great wall of china.Once he was there i went to edit- tansfor-scale and while pressing shift i made him smaller.

To edit the second picture of barack obama i used the magnetic lasso tool to cut him out,i then made and new layer and made it a green.I made a new mask,by putting black as the foreground couler as black i used the airbrush tool to erase the blue halos around him.Then i put the foreground couler as white, while holding down Alt key i clicked on the layer mask i then erased any part of him that should be white.

I think the first photo was easier because all i did really was use the magnetic lasso tool and then inversed and them dragged him on to the great wall of china.I found the second way alot more confusing because it took a while to figure how to change the couler,make a new mask and use the airbrush tool.

But i do think the second one looks alot more realistic and precise because it looks alot more clearer and he is cut out better.
